Avio USA has broken ground in Hurt, Virginia, on its first US manufacturing facility for solid-rocket motors.

The Southern Virginia Multimodal Park facility will serve US tactical-missile programmes, with HITT Contracting as general contractor. Avio said its capital increase supplied the resources for the investment and for establishing a permanent US industrial presence.
